Born from Vision, Built for Impact
SOBOS Energy was founded by Greg Jenkyns in 2017 after earning his Master's in Sustainable Energy. Greg identified a significant gap in the construction and industrial sectors—reliable off-grid power solutions that could reduce carbon emissions while maintaining performance.
With a background in both renewable technology and construction engineering, Greg designed the first prototype of what would become our flagship Mobile Renewable Power System (MRPS), combining solar generation, advanced battery storage, and backup power in a transportable unit.
Since then, SOBOS has evolved from a single-person operation to a strategic partnership between Greg and an experienced engineer, working together to make clean energy accessible through cost-efficient and sustainable power solutions.
Honoring the connection between renewable energy and the land, our power systems are named after Aboriginal sun deities: YHI, the sun goddess who brings light to the world; BILA, the sun god of the Adnyamathanha people; and WALA, a powerful symbol of sun and renewal—reflecting the deep cultural ties between solar energy and the traditional custodians of the land.
